Commission: A note to my Love

This one goes out to a very close friend of mine who wanted to show his special someone how he feels...enjoy!

The other day while meditating on my life,
I began to think about the most important aspect of my future:

The makings of my future wife.
While I sat there in the solitude of my thinking spot

I came across a few things that only she can spot.
As I write these down, I can't help but wonder

how can someone so incredible exist in this world?
Pen and paper I begin to write:

For that amazing woman; the better half of me.

Christian, not just in words but in action. You have brought the word
Love to a life that without you, could never have experienced it, and trust me, its
Awesome! The way you make me feel even if you don't believe me.
Unique in every way, especially when you smile, you give me the strength to continue to be
Devoted not just to you, but to our God. You make my life way more
Interesting than you can ever imagine. They way you are
Affectionate towards me makes me feel like I am on top of the world.

Tender heart, yet big enough to care for others, despite it being
Emotional. Which is great because it reminds me of how much I need you in my life.

Amazing does not begin to describe what we have together, I am yours and you are
Mine, until the day we part to heaven. Which I know is our final destination because we're
Outstanding and I am not saying this to brag, but when I think about what you mean to me

I begin to understand why King Solomon said "her price is far above rubies".
If you can see between the lines you will see my message for you, for these are the words of my heart.

Short story Excerpt

So I am working on another short story, here's an excerpt inspired by a friend...I tried to incorporate my poetry with my story writing, I hope you can enjoy!

John and Laura had spent all day in the fields talking for hours about nothing, like most couples who are in love tend to do, however Laura did not fall for him until that night, John's words finally after all these years finally struck a chord in her heart, call it a love song or fate, but his words went as follows:

"Laura, its night time already, but check this out. You see those stars?"

"yeah"

"each star you see is an I love you from me, because like them my love is infinite."

"John, what are you-"

"Laura, please, let me finish, after tomorrow I leave for the war, I may not be able to have this chance again"

"ok.."

"those stars with all their light, couldn't hold a candle to the light that you shine in me.
Your kisses break my chains of agony from this messed up world, even your smile!"

"Jesus, your smile.."

"your smile alone is enough to erase any doubts of what is right and good."

"but you know what else Laura?"

"wha-what?" she said, trying to hide her obvious blushing

"your embrace...in your embrace I feel strong enough to finish any race, no matter what the obstacles, as long as you are with me I can take on the world!"

"Stop it! you sound like a teenager"

"I'm sorry love, but you made me become born anew...I...cannot..."

Before he could say another word, she kissed him well into the night and as you can assume a night full of love and passion ensued well into sunrise. The new day however is a story for another time...

Poetry Prompt Dec. 8th...Person from my past.(Misael)

A poetry prompt from Poetry & Writers Magazine, Enjoy!

Think of a person from your past, someone you wish you'd gotten to know better and have always remembered. Think about why you wish you'd gotten to know this person better. Write a poem to this person, exploring what it was about him or her that has remained with you, even though the person hasn't.

The first night I played soccer was the first time we got to play and really have fun.
We had so much energy that we could have played all the way until the arrival of the sun.
You were the main inspiration for me to pick up a saxophone.
I will never forget you no matter how many years pass.

I could never beat you at chess, but when it came to English, you were a mess!
You always had a smile no matter what the situation.
It is because of you that I now know the joys of being a Madridista!
You taught me how to be a Xeneize and a true example of a good man.
How I wish you were still around! I can't believe that I am now a man!

Your life was amazing; your legacy enduring!
That saturday afternoon I had the worst dream imaginable
A car crashing with blood on the pavement.
A phone rings; I wake up.
Hello?
an instant chill down my spine.
Your life was on the line.

I did not realize,
how the pain would materialize.
That Saturday night, I felt like I had lost all my might.
The last grain fell from the sand clock.
And at that moment, I literally felt out of luck.

My cousin was taken from me.
we all wept as your killer laughed at your dead corpse.
All you wanted was to share the gospel of eternal life.
Yet, you met the end of yours for simply being you.
How I wish you were alive.
To tell me Juan be strong, don't give up.

Over 2,000 miles separated us for years
and the few months we could spend together were happy times.
I wish you could have lived longer.
I would have been much stronger.
That day, the world lost an angel
and his name was Misael...I miss you primo!
