Here is an excerpt of another story I am working on, let me know what you think in the comment section.
-Juan
The old man continued his tale of the last battle against the Goblins at Eledar still shaken from his memories even though this occurred over 60 years ago...
The battle had raged on all through the night, however it seemed that their numbers were endless, no matter how many we slayed, more poured in from every direction, we were surrounded and many thought this would be our end. Fate had a different ending for us then...
"what happened then?" asked the little boy still clinging on to his pillow, eagerly awaiting to hear more of his tale.
Well, as I said, the battle waged on and we thought it was only a matter of time until we would join our brothers in death. but something unexpected occurred precisely at the moment when our arms grew tired and our hope faded. With the menacing hordes of enemy infantry zeroing in on us with ungodly speed, the sky opened up and the piercing light blinded them. I looked up and saw these beings of light, and they appeared to be singing songs. but these were no ordinary songs for they sang in a language no human or Orc could understand. However this angelic melody began to do something special. It awakened the ancients that were long forgotten by men, yet these ancients rose up from the earth itself, the trees themselves began to walk, it was something none of us had seen before.
"who were these beings that have so much power?" asked Amy intrigued by these mysterious and powerful beings. "could you describe them?" "how did they look like?"
he sighed, sadly, I couldn't make out who these strange yet heavenly beings were, but their song was replenishing our strength and healing our wounds from battle. before we knew it, the Orcs forces were decimated and victory was at hand, our commander then yelled-
"Alright kids, time for bed" shouted their mother
"AWWWWWWW but MOM!!!!! the story was getting to the good part!"
"I don't want to hear it, its late and you both have school tomorrow, besides the veteran is tired and needs his rest as well."
disappointed the kids walked upstairs to their rooms.
"I am sorry Veteran, but thanks for keeping the kids interested, its hard to run an inn and manage the kids at the same time."
he chuckled and said: "its nothing 'mam, these kids remind me of my childhood, anyways I think I will hit the sack as well, what room number am I in again?"
"number 5 Vet, I also placed an extra blanket for ya, its gonna be a cold one tonight"
"thanks, goodnight"
"goodnight!"
